Unitra AI on Mac
Unitra AI now runs on Mac. It is the same app as on Windows: sign in with the account you already have, and your plan and daily allowance come with you.
On a Mac you get:
- Live voice translation of what other people say, from game voice chat, Discord or a call, together with your own microphone, in the click-through overlay and in the main window.
- Text and image translation. Paste typed chat or a screenshot into the main window to translate it.
- Speech recognition on your own computer, as on Windows, so your audio is not uploaded.
What it needs. A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 12.3 Monterey or later.
What stays on Windows for now. Gaming mode (automatic game detection and per-game profiles), the Accurate recognition mode and the one-key screenshot shortcut. On a Mac, press Control-Shift-Command-4 to copy a screenshot, then paste it into Unitra AI.
Download it from unitra.ai. On a Mac, the download button gives you the Mac version.
Installing on Mac
Open the downloaded file and drag Unitra onto the Applications folder, as the installer window shows. Then open Unitra from Launchpad or your Applications folder. The app is signed and checked by Apple, so macOS opens it after its usual check.
The first time you start translating, macOS asks for two permissions:
- Microphone, for your own voice.
- System audio, to hear other people. On some versions of macOS this is listed under Screen Recording. Unitra AI only uses it for sound.
If you skipped either one, turn it on in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Updates install automatically, as they do on Windows.
Windows
There is no Windows update in this release. Windows stays on 0.13.1.
Fixes
- An installer window with two bare icons and no instructions. It now shows where to drag the app.
- A warning when opening the app for the first time without an internet connection. The app now opens offline too.
