Unitra AI Desktop 0.13.1

Language setup now asks who is speaking, a prompt catches a setup that looks wrong, Traditional Chinese arrives, and you can sign in with Google or Steam.

Your language and their language

The two language pickers are now Your language and Their language. Your language is the one you read translations in and speak. Their language is what the game, other players or a video speaks. Unitra translates their language into yours, and yours into theirs.

During setup, the two can no longer be left the same by accident: Continue waits until they differ. You can still set them the same later in Settings > General if that is what you want.

In the main window the two pickers are labelled with icons instead of words: one person for you, two people for them. Hover over either one to see which is which.

A prompt when the languages look wrong

If what you are hearing does not match the languages you set, Unitra now says so once per session and offers the fix in one click. When the audio is already in your language, it offers to Swap the two. When it does not sound like their language, it offers to set their language to the one it heard, or to open your language settings.

The overlay shows a short note pointing you to the main window, so the prompt does not cover your game.

Multi-language in the main window

With multi-language recognition on, the main window no longer shows a picker for their language, since every language in your set is listened for on every source. In its place is a list of the languages Unitra is listening for. Click it to change the set in Settings > General.

Traditional Chinese

Traditional Chinese is available as your language, their language and in a multi-language set. Speech is recognised by the same Chinese models, and the text you read comes out in Traditional characters. The interface is available in Traditional Chinese too, with Taiwan vocabulary, and a Taiwan or Hong Kong system language picks it for you.

Rate a translation

Finished lines in the main window now have a thumbs up and a thumbs down. Thumbs down opens a small editor where you can correct what was heard and how it was translated. Your corrections help us improve recognition and translation.

Rating is available when Help Improve Unitra is on in Settings.

Sign in with Google or Steam

The sign-in window now offers Continue with Google and Continue with Steam next to email. To add either one to an account you already have, open Settings > Account > Connected accounts.

Lighter on your computer

We did a deep round of optimisation on how Unitra AI uses your computer. It now takes less processor time and less graphics memory while it runs, which leaves more room for your game.

Fixes

  • Words from your Custom Vocabulary appearing out of nowhere during near silence. Quiet moments no longer turn into dictionary words.
  • Settings that were forgotten or shown wrongly after a restart. Settings now come back the way you left them.
  • The multi-language "not active" notice staying up after buying Champion. It now clears as soon as the purchase lands.
  • Overlay notifications that piled up or stayed on screen. They now show one at a time and close on their own.
  • Error messages that showed raw server text when an account or purchase action was refused. You now get a plain sentence.
  • The MIC and DESKTOP tags in the overlay now appear in your interface language, along with other text that was still in English.

Plus a number of smaller fixes to updates, account settings and the plan cards.

If something does not work as expected after updating, let us know in Discord.
